There is a serious lack of contrast between the initial M and the background design on this all gold-colored metal necklace. As a result, the initial M does not stand out adequately, and is consequently difficult to discern, especially in daylight. As a result, the necklace ends up looking like a blob of shiny and reflective metal with an absence of definition. This is true even when standing up close to view the pendant. In addition, the reflective metal can be blinding. In the online ad, the details of the leathercraft-style background design of the pendant looked fantastic. However, the details are essentially non-existent when viewing the pendent in person. I am so disappointed with this necklace. I had very much looked forward to its arrival and putting it to immediate use. Unfortunately, that's not happening. My idea of an aesthetically attractive quality necklace is not a blob of shiny reflective metal for which the design is difficult to discern, other than being able to see some cut-outs in the outer edge of the pendant. There is too much of a “What is it? What is it supposed to be?” vibe with this necklace to have it be functionally sound and effective, or even appear to be “fine jewelry”. I would classify this necklace as being gaudy. Do not recommend.

The necklace just glistens and even the initial has a gloss to it that in the light the metals look the same because it's just glowing. Might I add the necklace itself is small but looks diamond cut because it sparkles so much in the light. Haven't had a necklace with a shine like this in a while. It is elegant while look like money. The charm is a nice size and not too small. It's definitely more than worth the cost because it looks like genuine 14K. A great gift idea and worth the cost. Actually a steal!
